Reading Rotations

This term we have started reading rotations. I was in the school journal group. We had to read the story and then write about it. It is all in the slide. i didn't really like this i would prefer something else. But i did like preforming a play.

Hanmer Springs

Last week we went on camp to Hanmer Springs It was so much fun everybody loved It. We did a lot of activities while we were staying there my favourites were Tree Climbing and the pools. Hanmer Springs was so much fun you should go there one day.

Hanmer Springs

   
This week Wednesday and Thursday we have been working on a Hanmer Springs slide we had to put a map and locate  Hanmer Springs and Greymouth and find the route we would take. We also had to find out how many Km away Hanmer Springs was away from Greymouth and 3 points of interest along the way. Also we had to find how many people lived in Hanmer Springs and what is the average temp in May.  Where is it and 3 things you can do in Hanmer Springs. We are going on camp next week I am so excited. 

Self portraits

This week we have been working self portraits but since it is Easter we had to add a few Eastery features like bunny ears and whiskers I reckon it was really fun. c:
                                                                                                   

poem

 this term we have been working on poems. we had this poster thing delivered to us and there were 13 little things in it and we had to choose one i chose a spider we had to write a poem and send it over but our teacher wanted us to keep the poems so we had to write it on a piece of paper and then water colour it all of them fade in to each other I really liked this because I really enjoy art i recon you should do this.

addition algorithms

This term we have been doing a lot of algorithms. first you add the right  numbers and then you go along the left and add the left numbers and keep doing it but it depends how big the numbers are for how much you have to go along. I kind of liked to algorithms but then also i basically new all of the ones we did do.

Brunner mine poem

last week we went to the Brunner mine so the next week/this week we have been working on making poems about it. We had to describe the mine and use at least 1 language feature out of 6 there was onomatopoeia, similes, metaphor, alliteration, rhyme, and personification. I liked this activity because it pushed me to write a poem because i don't really like writing them.  

Dogs are my favourite things

This week we have been working on book reviews we had to pick a picture book or a book we had read and write a book review we had to include the author what it is about what we rate it who we recommend it for. I quite liked  this doing this.

Celebrating My Success

For this activity we had to make a slide about Celebrating My Success we had 9 tasks to do on the slide. I think this activity was fun and quite easy and I think that you should make a Celebrating My Success slide. out of all of the tasks my favourite was the photo montage it was really fun.

Opinion Sharing

This term we have been doing oral language and and for oral language we have been doing statement of the week. Every time we do statement of the week our teacher gives us a statement and we have to write at least 2 reasons for agreeing and 2 reasons for disagreeing with this idea. Before we started Statement of the week we had to pick a group to do it with and as you can probably see on the front my group was Molly, Ruby, Zyah, Zoe and me. I think that this activity was a great learning experience.

Show not Tell

This week we have been working on describing and we have been focusing on show not tell. Our teacher gave us a picture of a scared cat and then we had to describe it with out telling that the cat was frightened or scared. I kind of liked the activity because you got to write paragraphs and I like writing paragraphs. We had to use our senses, simile or metaphor and precise nouns, verbs and adjectives to describe.  Can you find my simile?
